A Greater Promise For Life
RESIDENTAIL TREATMENT CENTER
Since 1967, our parent company, Clinicare Corporation has provided treatment to over 6,000 children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18 years old.  Clinicare currently serves children from eight different states through its other three residential programs, all which are located in Wisconsin.  Aurora Plains Academy allows Clinicare the opportunity to expand its services and values to a program dedicated primarily to residents from South Dakota.

Aurora Plains Academy is an intensive residential treatment facility serving your ages 10 to 21.  We offer a multidisciplinary approach to treatment utilizing a team concept in providing psychological and psychiatric services, case management and therapy services, (including the complete treatment planning component, which includes nursing services as we as psychopharmacology services).  Within the residential program, services are provided to residents in areas of sexual offense, mental health, as well as alcohol and other drug addiction (AODA).  The essence of programming for the youth placed at Aurora Plains Academy begins with the formulation of their individual treatment and individual educational plan.  For these documents, our youth are provided 24 hour structured programming that make valuable to them continued access to our counseling staff and the opportunity to participate in individual, group, family counseling, substance abuse and sexual offense counseling.  These therapeutic modalities are complimented by an educational system designed for growth in academics as well as addressing all educational deficits.  Recreational and physical education components are also included in the treatment opportunities afforded our youth.

Aftercare is also a key component to our residential program.  Our mission of aftercare is to provide support and assistance to the resident, family/caregiver and community while the individual is transitioning from a therapeutic residential setting through re-integration into community living.  To achieve these objectives the aftercare program will provide a network of support services to the resident, family/caregiver and placing agency.  Each plan is individually developed in cooperation with the treatment team, family/caregiver and DSS/DOC worker.
